Christmas baking

Jolly quiet at the coalface this lunchtime. Apparently it’s the busiest travel day of the year – don’t really understand that, isn’t it more likely to be tomorrow? Hope they’re all coming to Vernet!! Anyhow, I digress…perfect time to catch up on some Christmas baking. Readers of my blog for a while will know that it’s time for the Annual Dave’s Chrissy Cake, so here it is ready to go in the oven. Must be careful about the timing, my oven (in the restaurant) burns it if I follow the recipe timings, which are, of-course, done for a domestic one. Plenty of brandy and fruit!

Also thought I’d try something a little different to mince pies, so here are Christmas muffins.

I should perhaps do a little festive topping! Edible Santa maybe?!
